Karl Marx’s main ideas were present in his book, called The Communist Manifesto. His book stated that the citizens of the world should overthrow capitalism and abide by communism, also known as socialism. Communism/socialism is the idea in which a society does own property, stores or companies, everything is owned by the state and profit goes to the state. The state has complete control over the economy and supplies that the citizens need. Food, gas, oil and several other necessities are rationed by the state. Every person receives a paycheck after a government decided period of time. A loophole of Marx’s ideas is that if someone does not have a job they can still receive their rations and paycheck but they might have deductions in their paycheck. Some people view America’s welfare system to be like communism in that it has this same loophole, this is why some people are against the welfare system. Karl Marx was against the laissez-faire ideas present in most countries, he thought the government should be completely involved in trade, commerce and the economy. |
